Luther Film Extra Credit!

Even though Luther's experience that he became a monk seems like dramatic for me- because he is afraid of storm would kill him, he told god if he can survive from this he will join Christianity. One thing really confuses me: why his hands shaken when he lift the wine? want to show his religious side? He is an honest person and do what he promised to do: even though his dad got really mad at him because he became a monk but he didn't disguise or chose to ignore his promise to god that he would become a monk if he can survive. I think even he becomes a monk he still has confusion in god, in church, and even in Christianity, so later he will question the church the pope. One of the priest appears as Luther's mentor, once he sent Luther to Rome to send a letter. Luther was shocked by the people occurs in Rome. Whores everywhere, peasants and workers held a low status. Also, Luther started to concern about indulgence when he bought one for his grandparents. Later he sends Luther to Wittenburg to do a doctrine in theology which the priest believes will make Luther be able to change minds and open eyes. However, Luther keeps questioning the church and sacraments church make. He doesn't think some of them are biblical like indulgence. He started to have lectures on his new thoughts and gained support from people.Also, he enraged pope and king Charles. Nevertheless, he rejected to give up in his new thoughts. He continues to spread his ideas and hide in Fredrick's palace later. We can see Luther is a really flank and religious person. He study bible and have the courage to question the church who held more power than the government. If we don't have Luther, if Luther didn't wrote 95 theses, maybe there would not be so many death of protestants, but maybe we will not have a reformation in church which not only changed the church, but also changes in world structures, political and cultural. Overall I think Luther is the key person in this religious reformation.
